Yea, you could use and ISD, but I thought it was too big at the moment, but if they're gonna be a hero unit, I'd agree on using an ISD instead. You could also have 1 group of ARC's, then 1 of Torents and 1 of V-wings or Eta's, and when the Empire comes 1 TIE fighter/bomber/interceptor instead of just 3 fighter groups.

whoa there skippy. Eta's? no no no. that was just a mistake in battlefront 2 .   sides the only thing advanced you need on the 501st capital ship is some heavier armoring and perhaps a secondary sheild gennerator

Well, yea that would work too. But I just liked the idea of having them in fighters like in BF2 and be accompanied by the ship they launched from. I see my nickname is skippy now too. Lol.

Yes it is.   But Eta's just won't do by all rights ARC-170 is the recon scout.  built with a hyperdrive and enhances sensor package in the nose

Dude, Eta's weren't a mistake in BF2, they might have made a mistake by making them exact copies of Anakin's Yellow one, but they're not a mistake... For example, a Venator- Class Star Destroy carried 192 Eta-2's at one time, and during the clone wars you were lucky if there was one jedi for every 4/5 Venators..., so... it's obvious that they were flown by clones too. I mean what is one jedi gonna do with almost 200 fighters that only he is allowed to fly? Also in the book, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross sections , it mentions that the Eta's were favorites of Jedi Fighter Aces, not that they were use exclusively by the jedi, but that they were a popular choice by jedi pilots.

alright point. but Eta's wern,t ment for scouting they are for point defence work, keeping the fleet safe from fast movers.  They reqired a hyperspace ring just to jump, sheilds couldn't have been that strong either

I do see your point in not using Eta's, I think that if the 501st can be used in space they should just have 3 squads of enhanced ARC-170's and a Venator accompanying them. Idk, I don't know a lot about them, but that's what I'd do.  :D

First from ground unit to space unit, now to a fleet, i wonder what will come next. I just want the 501st to be clone in ground and ARC in space, simple and clear.

And by the way During the Galactic Civil War, ARC-170s could be found in both Imperial and Rebel fleets, where they were considered elite craft. I got that from wik

yeah the fleet is a bit large of an idea i'll admit.  But The 501st Leigon of Clone troopers and later Stormtroopers wern't all pilots and grunts.  They were the clones you called when the S#it hit the fan big time. So it make sence that they have to be more versitile than just Fighters in space and troops on the ground. :destroyer:

Idk about a whole HUGE fleet, but I like the idea of the Venators/ARC-170's and the ISD/2 Amaculators/TIE fighters in space, and just stormtroopers and clones on land. A huge fleet seems like a little too much for just one hero. If it was that big, I think it would need to be equaled out for the enemy.

I would go with turbo tank on ground and Venater spawn ARC in space, huge fleet is way over our head.
