Forum Wars 2: Casual Strategy, with some extra rules?
« on: December 12, 2011, 11:24 pm »

This is my first time ever playing this game but what the heck...

Just an extra rule that I'm putting in,or will be trying to add, for this round.
I'm afraid that the official round going right now is getting overcrowded and therefore, is making it difficult to operate. So, only 10 players...please ;D
Hopefully, this will keep yourself from getting confused about what you are doing.
I have attached the rules to this post.

Other than that, the same rules apply as normal. I'll start...

Canon Planet: Mandalore (in its proper placement in the true galaxy, not like vanilla FOC)
Non-canon Planet: Sadion, a short jump away from Mandalore and one of the first colonized planets...
Colonized: Concord Dawn and Myrkr.

The Mandalore walked, slowly...ever so slowly...down from his shuttle. The commanding general of the Mando army stepped up to meet him. The Mandalore, whose cowled face still created a startling visage even from underneath the mask, started the questions that the general had feared the most...

"What is the army's situation general?"
"Sir we are slightly behind schedule but-"
"No buts general. I want results and you are not giving me them. What is the status of the standing army?"

"We have 1.5 million personnel pulled off of the colony worlds and Mandalore. 28,000 are special ops. We have 50 Hailfires, 10 AT-TEs, and exactly 202 Dwarf Spider Droids prepared for deployment. Droid units have proved more convenient as they require less human intervention. Repairs have been extensive but tolerable. We also hold in our possession 20 SPHA-T's though they are in need of constant repair and require an aggressive number of men each so as of now, they are not in use. We have a classified number of gunships as-"

"Have you realized general, that all of the information you just gave me could be considered classified? Do you know who might be listening? Take him away!" the Mandalore ordered to his guards.

"As I do not have competent generals, I will be general myself. You," said the Mandalore, pointing his finger at the general's now very pale second in command, "Double your efforts on this army. I want an invasion size army in two weeks!"

"Y-Y-Y-Yes sir. I...I will put the men to it immediately."

to be honest, i don't think people here even remember the original Forum Wars, so that might be why people aren't even trying to joining

We've started :) Others can join though still. We'll just play in the meantime.

The Mandalore walked down onto the newly seized planet of Telos.
"Hopefully," he muttered, "we will soon have enough resources to become a powerful faction of the galaxy indeed!"

*United Nations Media Association: Today President Leslings revealed to the public that the UNSC will be building a moon base, on our moon, and will seize Planet Mars, a barren planet that has life support capabilities*

President Leslings enters in a conference room, in the conference room are Lieutenant General Cain, chief of staff of the UNSCSDF, Major General Roberts, UNSC chief of staff, Major General Grifiths, UNSC Army chief of staff, Major General Shuang, UNSC Airforce chief of staff.

President: all forces ready?

Cain: all forces ready sir, 1st Tactical Battlegroup (TACB) are preparing for warp jump over the orbit to mars. 1st infiltration fleet is reporting that there are no acitivity so this should go along fine. *general points to the tactical screen, 200 inches in size, and lets play the simulation* as soon as the TACB gets over orbit, by precaution, we will be immediately sending down the 1st and 2nd marines into orbit, totalling 16000. as soon as they secure a area big enough, we will begin landing more troops, and equipment to begin the construction of the city, it will take about a month before starting to sending civilians down there. by that time, the planet will be surface, and deep scanned for any possible threats/danger areas.

President: what of the civilians? theyll just be waiting in the ships?

Cain: well yes and no sir, theyll be in cryo-stasis.

President: what regiments will we be having down there.

Cain: well sir, that would be the 1st and 2nd marine Regiment, 3rd, 5th and 6th Infantry Regiment, 5th cavalry regiment, 2nd anti-aircraft regiment, 4th Artillery Regiment, 3rd and 4th Light Mechanised Infantry Regiment.

President: Perfect! what about spacial defenses?

Cain: the 1 TACB and 2nd Area Support Fleet should be there to defend, All-Around defence untill scanners are built on the planet and orbit of mars, then they would go about Theta defence pattern.

President: Perfect General, i expect that everything goes very well.

Cain: yes sir.

the TACB, and Area support fleet over orbit of earth:

Captain: prepare all engines for hyperdrives, T-minus 15 seconds, status on the electro-nuclear reactors?
engeneer: stable sir, reactors are outputting all current engine power, 16.5 to 16.6 gigajoules.
Captain: Perfect! 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... hit it!

the fleet, one ship by one ship, in a very rapid succession, all enter into warp speed.

As the Mandalore walked down back onto his homeworld of Mandalore, he was greeted by a shadowy, hooded figure, with a matte black robe and a powerful walk.

"We have seized the nearby planet Telos," the Mandalore said.
"Good, soon, our army will be an army that I will feel worthy leading into glorious battle," said the figure.
"I have trained you well," the Mandalore whispered. "None will be able to stand against you. I have made a truce with the Mon Calamari. Their ships will provide a source of naval power we need. Soon, the galaxy shall be ours!"

The shadowed man walked on, not saying another word. His name was Corus. He would lead the army to battle.

As the Tactical battlegroup exited warp, they overheard a transmission from the 1st infiltration fleet:

"repeat! this this a mayday hailing to all nearby fleets if possible! we are under attack! ship number unknown! *crrrrrr* radio at full power emergency transmision on all channels and frequency! *crrrr*

captain: all power to engines go where that last transmission was heard! damn idiots, full power to radios what do they want to be heard all across the damn galaxy?

as the fleet made itself around the planet, from the bridge, they could see the 4 Midsummer light-type Night frigates blocking the way of the unknown enemy ships, as the UNSC prowler and the stealth cruiser entered emergency warp speed direction to earth.

captain: ALL POWER TO WEAPONS! FIRE ALL MAC CANNONS! *hailing 1st infiltration fleet this is the captain of the 1st TACB, do you read?

as the powerful MAC cannons fire away onto the enemy ships, one of them is ripped to shreds by the powerful MAC rounds. and another appeared damaged.

midsummers: this is captain *crrrr* requesting assistance!, main weapons down! hull breached at 8*Crrrrrr* help us! Ahhhhhhh! *crrrrrrr*

a midsummer blows up, in a blinding light, due to its nuclear reactors. repulsing other ships around it, including friendlies. 2 other midsummers collide in a powerful noise of twisting metal noise.

captain: all ship Alpha pattern and protect the remaining allied ship! full broaside! lauch all fighters and bombers!

as the fleet maneuvered, one of the unknown ships fell through the atmosphere.

captain: how many ships left?!

Ship defense coordinator: looks like 3 sir!

Captain: fire a last volley! equal firepower on each ships, make em count boys! critical hits if you can suspect one!

as the mac cannons fire away, another ship is ripped to shreds, and the other two remaining seemed quite damaged.

captain: full broadside!

ships turned to their side, autocannons, shiva nuclear missiles and acher missile pods fire away, also covering the 3 remaining surviving ships.

random crew: sir! look!

one of the unknown ships seemed to be charging up.

captain (looking suspicious): EVASIVE MANEUVERS!

as they took evasive maneuvers, the unknown ship fired away an "invisible beam". by that, it mean it looked like is fire a strait line of intense heat. where you could determine just like intense heat in the desert.

as the "beam" hit one of the midsummers, it is literally cut in half.

captain: load saber rounds in the Mac cannons, and broadside the nearest ship.

as they hit over and over again, the enemy ship finally fell, internal explosions went on, and the ship went crashing on its planet.

captain: turn around and concentrate fire on the nearest ship.

all ships from the tactical Battlegroup turned to face frontwards the last remaining ship, fired away and, intead of the normal white hot tracers, they were blue.

the enemy ship, literally taking 50+ Mac shots, was holed like a swiss cheese. and had weird red-ish fire onboard instead of normal blue, orange or yellow.

as it went down in a slow moving pattern towards the mars planet, the crew screamed. happily and very pleased.

captain: prepare the forces, if there was danger here, there certainly is down there. warn the men.

"Sir," the captain said, "we are ready for a push for the Core. There are pirates and other hazards in our way but our fleet is large. We can move as soon as you are ready."

"We are not ready yet. Give it time captain. Soon, we will be on our way..."

As the marines descend upon the planet, no immediate threat is encountered, more and more equipment and soldiers land onto mars, and begin the mars city installation. as the marines scout out the planet, light but fierce resistance is met.

*INCOMING TRANSMISSION* ?: Captain, how did the invasion go, i heard there were some resistance?

captain: yes sir but enemy is unknown.

?: do not worry captain, those are the rebel extremists, nothing more.

captain: rebel extremist... what are they doing here?

?: thats exactly what we are trying to find out, just do your job captain and all will be fine.

captain: yes sir!

The Mandalore, on the planet of the same name, glided towards the military commander, looking for all the world like the bringer of death himself. Neither was that entirely untrue either.

"I want you to send scout ships and drones towards the Core. I want to know what approaches us when we get there."
