We're mainly worried about whether KL's sound quality and voice are suitable, not whether the samples are correctly geared for UEaW! The details of what specifically is needed can be arranged if he becomes a VA.

I'm not really sure what you still need. I know I have the skills to be a developer assistant, but I might try to be a voice actor if you guys don't get the spots filled.

So many applicants on this thread that I was away for - could you upload a zip with a sample collection?

A sample collection of what? I don't do modding, I just know how to from watching friends and working in similar coding (or at least what I think is similar ). If I did get this position and was at a point where I did not understand something, I could just ask one of my friends that are working on games (if I did this, I would of course give them the credit).

Maybe that first paragraph might be out of topic... But I don't want to leave a question unanswered.

I will also be receiving a mic next week, then I can send you some of my voice samples. I'm just not sure what type of voice you need though.

The style you submit isn't too important; we look to analyse the quality of your microphone's recording and whether your voice is suitable.

If you're interested, UEaW's voices use an Admiral-style reporting point of view; instead of having different voices for every ship and squadron, each faction has a single admiral voice who reports the status in a calm manner; as if you were the Admiral of the Fleet and your assistant is reporting the ongoing battle to you.

So:

Unit selection, e.g. Nebulon B is 'Escort frigate selected'
Move order, e.g. Nebulon B is 'Frigate navigation order issued'
Attack order is 'Engagement order issued'
Damage report, e.g. shield generator down on a VSD is 'Destroyer reports loss of shield generator'.

Et cetera.

Finally got a chance to listen to KoboldLord. I believe that occasionally you have the idea, but you fall into a problem: you are too quiet. Try to speak up more and try to wake up your mother in the next room. Don't worry about it. Also, you get the occasional air puff on the hard "P" syllable. Might recommend investing in a windscreen if you're going to continue, or find a way to make one from a wire coathanger and a pair of pantyhose.
