Friend 64-bit help
« on: February 03, 2011, 05:16 pm »

I have a friend who recently got Empire At War Gold Pack and I want him to try UEAW, he installed it but when he tries to run the mod itself. He gets an exception error. He's already installed the RAM fix for 64-bit systems as he has one and he can launch the default game just fine. But, as I mentioned earlier, when he tries to run the UEAW mod itself from the UEAW launcher or inside the FoC folder; he gets an exception error much like the one you get from the 64-bit RAM error before the patch is installed. I'm hoping for some help on this because I'd really like for him to be able to use this awesome mod since otherwiser the game's so boring.

Thank you? Although how do you do that? I too run a 64 bit OS with UEAW and never had to install the patch to the mod itself.

seriously? copy the file, open the folder Mods/UEAW, paste it.

according to Shimrra ant Petroglyph - that's just impossible...

The reason I ask how do you do that is because for the RAM fix I download, I just get an exe file. Not individual files that I can simply copy over.

Edit: To make it easier to understand. Here's where I download the RAM fix from. http://www.lucasarts.com/support/update/EAWFOC1_1.html

It's the very bottom download link.

Edit 2: The reason I know I never installed the RAM fix to UEAW before is because if I did, I wouldn't be asking here how to do it since I'd remember something like that. When it worked for me without the fix I though it was just some super awesome coding on the UEAW Team's part (they do still do awesome coding though; UEAW's my favourite mod out there).

Nope. The RAM fix porgi suggested is a single file and has to be placed in each mod and in the game itself. The RAM fix petroglyph released a while ago fixes the game completly - this includes also any mods you have installed/will install.
V0.4 of UEAW doesn't have this patch included, however, V1 will have.
