Changing courscant's name
« on: October 05, 2009, 02:16 pm »

Where can I find the GC's XML? What I do is go to all programs, LucasArts, SWEAWFOC, open file location, Data/Mods, XML, Planets, courscant.  </Planet>

   <Planet Name="coruscant">  Is that the GC's XML?

What is the GC's XML, and where can I find it? I just switch the planet name to Earth and leave the space and land maps alone. But when the game starts no Earth :[ Unless the planet has a invisable power something has to be wrong

No, this defines the planet itself. You need to find the file that defines the GC's.

Check my GC tutorial

No idea if the OP still reads this, but figured I'd help out anyone with the same problem that stumbles accross this thread.

You'll need to use a DAT editor to change the relevent text files for your planet (one is available here: http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?action=file&id=1253 )

Run the DAT Editor, and tel it to open the MasterTextFile for your mod (found in Mods/"mod name"/Data/Text).

Then, while leaving the DAT Editor ticking over in the background, open the Planets.xml file (Mods/"mod name"/Data/XML/Planets.xml by default (using Notepad, if you don't have a specific XML editor) ), find the planet you want to change and look for the <Text_ID> (eg <Text_ID>TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_ABREGADORAE</Text_ID> ). This will tell you which text line you'll need to edit with the DAT Editor.

All you need to do then is find that entry in the DAT Editor program, and change it (make sure you change the TEXT bit though, not the NAME bit. Get the wrong one, and your game will just show [MISSING] instead of your edits.

I beg to differ! That last post helped me to change the planet name, and I did! Thanks!
