Anyway back on topic, the rebels would lose, because the Empire would most likely call for more ships if they did fight against the Deathstar, and the last option they would have is to run, which is considered losing.

Well It's true that running is a better option than staying and trying to destroy the deathstar which would take a long time, but still, you don't win by running, you only lose less and don't get beaten to death by the deathstars turbolaser towers if you get too close.  So it would actually be a draw since the rebels don't have enough firepower to destroy it and the Empire has the deathstar but it can't hit the capital ships without it's enhanced targeting

Anyway, Someone should add something to this, because there is not to much to add to this...

rebellion, they could destroy the eclipse using home ones targeting ability( if this is eaw) then use mon cals torps to destroy the ds (explode)

Empire as the death star alone (II) wouldnt have weakness and thousands of turbolasers plus the super laser could take up to 500 mon cals or more,
fighters? no prblem the DS has many as well
(cannons fleets have + 100 ships and +1000 fighters)
would have been a nice fight
