I got the msn virus from everybodys favorite kratas and now I cant do anything about it

Ive looked up NUMEROUS ways to fix it and NONE work

going into system configuration and startup doesnt do anything the file(s) arent there. And Ive tried everything available including a very nice msn virus remover which said Im clean but as Luigi or Zero can attesst Im obviously not and this is absolutely pissing me off because I use MSN every [censored] day

Wait msn virus? And Kratas is spreading this stuff? Woww seems like I missed a lot

Well I don't know a lot about computers. Actually I lied. I know almost nothing. But if a program was infected would uninstalling it and running scans and antiviruses, then reinstalling it help at all? Sorry if I sound like an idiot stating this, just trying to help lol

when the msn virus infects someone it sends everybody on their contact list random links to piccys and when if people click them then they get infected

actually I ran the scanning software again and it said it did something and then restarted and so far none of my contacts have said links

well, to make one thing clear: it's not Kratas fault. he probably got infected the same way you did.
changing the pw usually works btw.
and if you get a link, ask the other what it is. if you get no answer you can asume that it's not him who sent you the link....

To make sure you don't get it again put your firewall on maximum alert. After every week run a virus scan. Look at the results. Get Firefox, a web browser. If you get a virus stuck in the computers programming well your dead.

GET FIREFOX WEB BROWSER!!!!!!!! You don't get any viruses with it.

is true,I got it off someone else and that nice guy jedi luigi sent me a virus fixer thing which killed it

You don't need to make it to spread it. He gave it to Red and almost got me.

Generally, you have to do something or accept a file yourself from the infected msn to actually be infected yourselves, so well done, canary brains.

No. That isnt what happened. WITHIN an MSN conversation, the virus will send a link without the infected person knowing. if the other person clicks it, they get infected and the virus does it in their conversations too.

yes, you do. it can also be transmitted via zip or rar archives sent by the virus, which hen opened infect your MSN

This has been going around for months, along with another similar msn bug. It's not exactly hard to evade, considering the so-called image clearly displays it's file name, and unless you're not paying attention, you can't fail to notice the

"randomimagename".jpg.zipWhich in most anyone's mind, should probably set off alarm bells.

And truly, if you have decent security set up, and you click it, whether by ignorance, or distraction, you should get notifications and be able to knock it out in a few seconds. It's fairly simple. There are far smarter ways to get people to download virus's unknowingly, so truly it's not too much of an issue if you pay attention.

when i logged on here, i got a randon picture, so i'm not sure if it's the virus or just a weird thing that computers do. but i haven't had anything similar happen on other websites, nor have i noticed any oddities on my comp.

It works because people trust their friends, Also Porgi i think you have been caught out, i get random messages from you with picture links so you need to change your PW. Basically the virus gets your username and password and sends it to a server. This then logs into your account and sends links to random contacts.

Yeah, researched on it without knowing, from what I can tell, they can't log on while you are, so it'd take the virus to be on your computer to spread to another through a chat, changing your password prevents the server from logging onGrid of any potential problems on your computer, and if need be, stop sharing files, I never share, thankfully, quite simple to do. Prevent from spreading, disable it, then destroy it.
