The Republic Artillery Gun should be added as a Republic Artillery. It is basically the only one they had.

I say no to the RAG. Something fills it already.

Maybe make it upgradable? Start with the SPMAT and then later on upgrade to the SPHAT?

Back up the truck; this isn't a precursor, it fires shells, and is driven on repulsorlifts.

It could fill a field artillery role, compared with the heavy role of the SPHA-T.

But just after the Battle of Muunilinst they weren't used as far as I know. The RAG could be for worlds that cant use the SPHA. Also it would be very interesting.

IG Lancer Droids that won't be in this game and are one of the most absurd creations in Star Wars.

No, the consensus here is that the SPHA series stays. Unless the staff decides otherwise, it's safe to rule the Rag as out.

WE COULD HAVE BOTH. The RAG is a smaller piece which has a different warhead and is lighter; it could perform as field artillery whilst the massive SPHA-T could by the heavy artillery...

Similar to the 20 Pounder Gun and the Howitzer. 20 Pounder was field artillary, Howitzer was Heavy Artillery. I like Chris' Idea.

Yes. The shells can't enter shields and they can blow up tons of droids. They would technically be droid busters.  :)

hold your horse cowboy!

ENERGY weapons is stopped by the normal shield you see, then there the particle shield wich stop weapons such as missiles, or any other type of solid object!

That is just one tactical example; it would be able to penetrate standard shields; but would have to be much closer to fire upon the base (more vulnerable to defensive fire)  and have smaller munitions (field artillery, thus shorter range and smaller calibre), thus there is a pay-off.

The SPHA-T is seen a little more than the RAG, but I think they actually fill different roles. Maybe make the SPMA-T the starting artillery then get the SPHA-T at like around Tier 3 or 4, but keep the RAG in a different category all together. Make that availible like Tier 4?

exactly, its a game if the units a too slow its boring, too fast too uber, sometimes in games (EVEN in Company of Heroes) thats all about realism of real life THEY HAVE to twist the realism a litle... look at CoH for Example, the King Tigers and Tigers moved ALOT slower than in the game and the game is still very popular and has very good reviews litle twitches like that makes a game greater than it was expected to be.
