Turrets improvement
« on: February 07, 2009, 09:45 am »

So clone war era Turrets I have few ideas. And improvement for Civil War era.
Anti air craft:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-aircraft_gun
Rocket turret:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Trandoshan_rocket_turret
Rocket Turret 2:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookiee_Quadrail_Launcher

And yes they need a person to fire with them. So why Civil war era turrets don't? Like this: And it was also used during Clone wars  :)

I do believe infantry engineers should be used to build turrets like in Axis & Allies.

Only having engineers be able to build turrets IS perfectly possible.

Also methinks there should be a range of turret sizes... And different sized pads to go with - perhaps the really basic ones could be normal infantry buildable.

if you are to do that, then the dont expect the modellers to have nicely detailed models if you impose them a dealine.
 let me explain:

Anti-aircraft turret + anti infantry turret + anti vehicule turret + rocket turret 1 + rocket turret 2 = 5 x 3 (assuming there will be 3 sizes of turrets available: small medium and big) is 15 different models. if your going to give the modellers a dealine (say they have a month) well dont expect some well detailed models.

if i have misinterpreted things (or everything) tell me.

I think there should be 3 types:

A small build pad for tiny, tripod mounted heavy weapons; heavy/medium repeaters (1 per faction)
example:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Repeating_blaster

A medium one for regular turrets (3 per faction, similar to the ones already in-game)

And maybe a larger one. Scaled down turbolasers? torpedo launchers? Ion emplacements?

can this be made to work?  I like the idea, I'm just curious about the "how" part of it.

I think that means it is possible. Chris isn't normally wrong and it seems a simple enough thing to do.

That's a stupid comment to just stick into a carefully debated topic.

Change  :angel to >:D ?

We'd need new models, but this could easily work (both different turret pad sizes and turrets) as well as infantry only making the smaller ones and engineers required for bigger ones.

So it would be safe to say engineers are in?

How are they going to work or is that top secret as well?
