hi... my idea is use the probe droids as a explorer unit, 2 for company and use the ability of the MPTL spotter

probe droids can go over terrain that speeder bikes cannot. Also, Probe Droids are less conspicuous, as they can camouflage more easily against the terrain.

Maybe just pack them with the artillery instead. Doesn't seem all that fair that MPTLs get free spotters.

for me is good, for the ability, the ability of the MPTL sppoter is very good to use a bombing run. Why no use a spotter in the Empire?

probe droids werent well armored, but the one solo shot self destructed.

it should essentially have the same health as the MPTL spotter

You only get 2 MPTLs. The Empire gets 3 SPMA-Ts per company, AND for a cheaper price.

MPTLs are better. They are faster, and more accurate against moving targets. More akin to MRL systems than an SP gun, like the SPMA-T, which is better against stationary targets. Not to mention the damage the MPTL can do versus that damage the SPMA-T can do. The MPTL can do quite a bit of damage, the SPMA-T, not so much.

Yes and I think Mirshe is right there. The probe droid should get the same ability of the spotter. maybe a trooper quality blaster.

no, it should just be the probe droid unit; SPMAT's come three in a group and are cheaper, so they have to be worse to be balanced.
