Topic: Lancet Removal (Read 721 times)

Upon researching this unit, one will find that its only appearance is in FOC. "Technically," this makes it a cannon unit...however, we never see it anywhere else in star wars, which makes it kinda weird to see it be deployed all over the galaxy in this game. Can we remove this unit? The problem with this as I see it is that the Empire no longer has an aerial unit...maybe give them a gunship.....Thoughts?

People have talked about this before and we decided to keep it in. It gives the Empire an advantage that can be countered by the Rebels easily.

regarding it only being in EAW; I SWEAR i've seen it somewhere else before. A while ago. Don't remember where though.

I hate them. The T-4B can target them, but it only sometimes works. It drives me crazy

There is one thing that annoys the junk out of me concerning these things: their AA turrets are ridiculous! If you were to ask me, I'd have them powered down at least a little. They make airspeeders more or less unusable if they happen to just be deployed and air coverage is not what they were designed for. OTHER THAN THAT, I say that they're fine and should stay in.

i say keep it it's one of my favs next ot the AT-AT as it allows quick raids mainly on the shield gens before storming the place with my usally barrage of AT-ATs, also it's good at killing pesky turrets and artillery units.

sorry about that...its just frustrating when you're all excited about an idea, and no one appreciates it...i found it strange too because there seems to be a lot of disapproval towards things that aren't cannon to a certain degree. While lancets are not fannon as they are in a star wars licensed game, they are exclusive to the game, and don't really fit into the rest of star wars. Yes, they are a good unit, and I like to use them as much as the next guy, and nothing stops us from adding a replacement that makes us even more happy....however, because of their obscure nature they and their "almost" uber status (maybe over-exaggeration), they're kinda like the Zann Consortium which is also is being removed in this mod because, although they are cannon (star wars licensed game,) they do not fit in with the rest of star wars, and are too powerful.

the ZC is being removed partly because they are too uber and partly because i believe at present time this is a two faction mod.

The reason why it's a two faction mod is influenced by what the third faction would be like...and Zann Consortium is being removed because it is as I stated: to powerful (like you said, "uber",) and because they mess up the story line a bunch (which is the cannon issue).

there are of course other factors....but this is an influence
