Sorry for asking for crazy things again. Specialized commanders! Commander units specialise in (for example) infantry  (trooper), tanks  :D, artillery  >:D, (air/space support?)  :rebel or stealth and sabotage  :han. Instead of a fuzzy general bonus for all have a better bonus but only for those units. I am not sure whether this should be done at construction level or upgrade level.

... or commanders can actually do one of the above! Have minor heroes in AT-ATs, Transports (a la FoC), speeder bikes, speeders or running around with explosives/inflitrator rifles.

What do you think?

Like your other idea, its very difficult. Possible, but it would mean a huge amount of minor heroes that would take up all of the pop cap and building slots.

Yes.
In fact we are working on some Commander, that will effect the bunker-things on land maps atm.

But I understand you idea, and I got another idea out of it, that I will give a try later...
I'll keep you updated.

That's a very good idea as gives new range of vehicle and infrantry command to planetry warefare.

It's not really difficult if you know how to code. As for the minor heroes you would probably have to build a building that can give can recruit these units. Once you have these minor heroes they cancel out any other units that take up space, and as you know the population cap is gonna be increased.

i wonder, is it possible to assign an upgrade to a unit. like u can build upgrades at a structure, can a unit also carry that tag?

I think so. A bit like the Reflective Armour upgrade. I'll go look in upgrades.xml to see what its like

I think I better way to give unit upgrades would be to have a technician guy select him and on any of your planet there would be the special ability: upgrade technology, then you use the black market corruption option menu you can gradually purchase any upgrade you want.

i dont really think it is possible to make a unit be able to build/purchase/create an upgrade...

Me neither. I think only buildings can produce. Units can attack, heal etc but not upgrade things.

No it definitely is possible if you use the black market corruption coding, instead of getting the upgrades from an enemy planet you get it from one of your own.

I've coded some stuff with the luas and xmls for the corruption missions, but the main problem is that  only 1 side can have the corruption options but I've created a system where 2 sides can have the same missions but in different ways...
