Another idea: Its always really bugged me to know that although many star-fighters in the star wars universe are capable of atmospheric flight, the only involvement in the game (during land battles) that they have are during bombing runs (they drop da bombs). I was wondering if they could be made to have an increased role, i.e., become land and space capable units. Can this be done?

p.s.: sorry if this has already been posted
Rejected: No fighters or bombers, or any space units at all besides transports will be available on land. This game is not GG, the fact that there are no air standard air units aside from speeders is an essential game mechanic, and adding fighters to land would be unbalanced and boring.

thanks....i've gone through them, but its not easy to find 1 specific thing...it's not a huge problem just to shoot it down again...though, granted, it gets annoying for the rest of you

Yes, it does. I've been here for I think a little over a year-and-a-half, and I've seen a lot of ideas get rejected then a few months later another guy posts the same idea up.

Peace, not to sound rude, but how many of your posts have sincerely helped a topic along? I registered on the forums about the same time you did, and you probably have twice as many posts as me. Don't give me the crap about the backroom either, those posts add to your count too.

Quite frankly the last thing I want to see on such a small board is a ban.

we can be proud that people like me are productive and are contributing to this community at there comfort level....no one is forcing you write posts, but yet you still write some, and you do that at your speed. everyone has there own rate of posting, and no one is forcing anyone to make more or less. Spam is not a contribution. Redundant ideas aren't contribution.

Ok this has been mostly off topic and a pointless argument. Most of you are arguing about who contributes the most. That's really stupid being that you are doing just the opposite right now. Starting pointless stupid arguments is not contributing. The amount of contribution to the mod that you have does not directly spawn from the amount of time you have in it. Think on it.

I think the plans are for no land-based starfighters.

Maps would have to much bigger for them to work properly, and until/unless we make far bigger maps for V2/V3, then many canon and good ideas like fighters etc. are not useful as the maps are so small.

I mostly agree with no land fighters, but bombers being a land unit would be nice. It's been tried in other mods and worked. Give them incredibly low health so antiaircraft turrets can shoot them down easy so the game remains balanced. It would be like lancets with the models of bombers and the stats of an airspeeder. Not fighters though, that would get horribly annoying and it's pointless. One mod I have tried to bring corvettes into land skirmish. they were stupid and died when shot twice by an infantry guy (not rocket or plex soldier)
