the field commanders in the game have way to weak armor there advanced weapons are awesome but there weak armor makes them weak witch is weird because there supposed to be better protected than most...
Reasons for Rejecting request:
-field commander is not meant to be a front line unit
-would remove the strategic weakness of the unit
-general consensus against (the vote lost 1-6)

There not suppose to be on the Frontline. There suppose to be at you base and/or a rally point

i hate field commanders, i buy some as the rebs nad first thing that happens is they get crushed by a squad of AT-STs,

i keep far away from 'em and only use fleet commanders,

hmm... they're actually a huge help to your forces, though. the gave a vision boost and a health boost; they give a significant advantage over the enemy. you just have to watch them and be careful with them, because they have a very powerful rifle and can defend themselves against infantry well.

i didn't notice a difference, and i still hate the fact everytime i use on something runs him over...

no they're not. They even give armor a 25% health boost. that's pretty substantial. perhaps they could build a little faster?

he means the commander himself one squad of troops and a weak commander he should at least have as much armor as his gaurds because they give the best armor to the higher ranking...

He does have a point, commanders should be more of a combat unit and less of a stay back unit.

Commanders aren't really supposed to be truely out there to fight. They're just meant to boost morale and give bonuses. They're not meant to be like the cheap infantry units.

yep do you ever see a commander IRL charging on the front lines not usually they stay back to coordinate the battle.

Well lets see....Jedi, leader of clone trooper legions, Fleet Commanders.....These guys are supposes to be well protected, even if they don't fight on the front lines.

They've been trained from the day they were taken from their parents. These Field Commanders are Joe-Schmoes who signed up to be in the military.

this isnt modern earth at war, this is Empire at war and besides what your talking about is a general not commander as in a person take orders from the general and giveing the orders to the troops, like a sargant in modern warfare

yeah, but even then, most of the time the commanders where in the rear in star wars. like on hoth, the rebel command was in the fortress, and on Endor, the imperial command was bunkered up.

look even if they were out of the battle they would still have better armor than most troopers so there armor should be at least as good as there elite guards

there armor sucks... its about as good as a regular trooper from my experiences with field commanders... and there almost always the first one killed in the unit witch suuuuuuckkkssss....

numerically, they have twice the HP of a standard soldier. protect your important units better.

never happens as soon as they land... and that's also why you land them last, so that tanks can cover it while they unload.

That would be a safe assumption. Sorry to be blunt, but it's not our fault that your commander dies first. It's you're landing him first, directly in the lines of fire, with no cover. Yeah, he's going to die. CHANGE YOUR STRATEGY!

I almost never use field commanders- I have enough heroes. the bonuses don't stack.

I agree, strategy is important. I just park my field commanders in a bunker with a bunch of troops somewhere in the back of a map.
