Baron Soontir Fel and the 181th / 151th Squad.
« on: July 09, 2006, 06:28 pm »

Will the 151st squadron be included as a hero with Baron Fel as the leader after Vader is dead, or will they be cut out entirely?

I'm sure I can, I'll need to do some extra research.

I belive Baron Fel earned Corellian Bloodstripes and displayed them proudly; however, I can not seem to find any reference to him decorating his fighter with them. I do know that the 181st used a paint scheme similar to the standard imperial paint scheme, but with either a blue or red stripe on their "wings" ( I'm sorry, I can't remember which.) I believe it was red stripes horizontally on all of the solar panels of any of the fighters he flew. Most if not all of his pilots bore the same paint scheme as it signified a kill count of ten or more which was basically a requirement to be a part of the squadron. They were red, I remember now. How's that for info?

Just to keep everybody updates:
Yes, Fel will be in, of course not only as a big fighter-hero, but also as the upcoming leader and founder of the new Empire that happens somewhat in 100ABY.
For all those who do not know yet: 100 years later the actual Galactic Alliance will be defeated by the Empire, lead by Emperor Fel, a heir of the Baron, as far as we know so far.

And yes, the jedi will be hunted down by some Sith. Again.

That's Legacy ain't it? Bleh! I can't even stomach New Jedi Order or Young Jedi Knights or whatever.

Anyways, I'd definitely like to see the 181st (and maybe Vader's Fist for Stormtroopers while we're at it.), since the Empire needs a Hero fighter group to counter Red/Rogue Squadron.

Oh, and here's the 181st's Interceptors. Just some simple Bloodstipes on the wings of whatever they get to fly.

*cries*   :'(

Do we really need the Legacy stuff in the mod? I hate it! :( I'm unhappy about this but won't stop playing.

I'm glad the 181 will be added. I was also wondering if we would see Bel Iblis get a space unit. Say a more powerful Dreadnaught called the Peregrine. Has anyone found a good pic of Niles Fierrer yet? Really want to see him added to the mod.

Hey, good point on Iblis!

And yes, the 181 will be done, but not as a hero (list full), but as a minor-hero.
Availble... where? Any suggestions?
Did they have a base planet or something?

It shouldn't be very expensive either since it is just a collection of the best pilots. Effecient but cheap? Well, they should be equiped with tie-interceptors ant the very least.

I think the 181 would be a great addition to the game.

It should be Tie -E's.   That is all they ever flew according to the comic books and the X - wing books.

There is even canon for having more than one unit of them as minor heroes.  According to one of the books by T. Zann (I am 99% sure it was one of his), Soontir Fel was cloned at one point and there were pockets of Fel and other 181 clones stationed around the galaxy as sleeper cells.  The cells were never called up by the Empire but they were there.  I forget the title of the book were this happened and was explained, but it was the 2 parter that Zann wrote in which Luke and Mara got together finally.  The two parter that was written just prior to the Vogg series being released, something about the "Hand of Thrawn".

I'm not very good at finding links as I can't acces much of this type while at work.

And Hermod throws one right into my wheel house!

The books are The Specter of the Past and Visions of the Future. Thrawn only cloned Soontir Fel and placed the cells all over the galaxy. If you want to make him a minor hero then have him be the first fighter unit that comes out of Thrawn's SD.

There's not too much listed, but here's the wiki for the 181st.
