ok, here is my NTB-630, the clone wars era bomber (i looked on the unit list and it said there was a model needed for this one.
o yeah, if you like the general layout but think the pilots section, (it wont allow the real word) is too angular or the engines aren't big enough or some other thing, feel free to tweak that if you accept this model into the game.

I'm pretty sure that's not good enough... It also looks uneven too...

I'm not staff, but I've worked in modeling, and I know a number of people who are exceptional modelers, and I will say this with all honesty and sincerity: This is simply not at all good-enough. Work at it, and come back when you've got something to be proud of, and we'll take a look, kay?

I don't know what the NTB-630 looked like, but that reminds me of an Aurek to be honest (And I didn't spell that right either) no offense there.

There is no actual cannon NTB-630 design.

actually, try straightening the entire front pod above the engines. I was looking at it, and I noticed that it is a bit crooked. Then throw a bit more detail into it. like a cockpit canopy, and panel lines.
I've finally started to get fairly decent using blender. I had my friend help me code the Intruder (the biggest ship in my trilogy of books) into EAW, and aside from causing mass lag because of the amount of fire power it has, it turned out fairly nice. I plan on adding all the things from Galactic Earth in and taking out all the Star Wars units as soon as I find the time to do so. That way it will be easier to write out battles in the book, because I will be able to see them happen. I'm building a gaming system soon, so I will be able to play before long without the lag.
Anyway, with the front, what would happen if you dulled the very nose, and tilted it down a bit. Then add a small bulge behind that to simulate a cockpit canopy. Sorry if I seem a little overly critical. I just am used to my friend Sean's work, and he can blow all the art and models away on any game I've seen so far. He actually used paint on a piece, and it turned out looking fairly real. It looks like a freaking picture taken by a camera. It's looking at a stone wall with gargoyles in a corner. But anyway, off of that tangent cause I could go on for hours about the awesomeness.
I'll see if I can't get a good design out of it and post it up, just to give you some ideas. I do better with pencil and paper than I do with programs.
Oh yeah, if anyone wants anything designed other than people or animals, contact me and I'll try and draw it up. I love to draw in math class when I get bored (every day, because it's so freaking easy).

here is my new and improeved NTB. here are my changes:
i evened out the front pod
i also smoothed out the pod and lined it up with the engines.
also other pics from different angles. i did paint it to show the visor and stripes of red war aint, but it didn't show up on the render.

Still needs a lot more detail. I'm no modeler yet myself, but I have a few friends that are very good at what they do, so I know a good model when I see it. Matter of fact, there was a guy arguing for MAC in another thread using my account. He's the best that I know of. But anyway, not to sound mean or stuck up, it needs a LOT more detail Smooth out the nose a bit and add some details to the engine pod's. Instead of plain cylinders, have regresses, and raised places, like maintenence access hatches, and add little bumps here and there to represent odds and ends that are required to keep space craft operational. I think you know what I mean. Smooth out most of the sharp lines in it and it will improve a lot. If I ever finish my model of the Intruder from my book, I'll post a render of it. City skapes on starships (like the Executor class SSD had) takes a lot of work if you want it to look good. Each little blocks takes a half hour to an hour, and there are a few hundred, but I want it to look realistic, so the time is required.

I think that you should start with small fighters like first try make realistic Fighter or X-wing. And then start make new star fighters like CloakShape fighter or anythin you want. Then try to make small cruisers.

i actually tried to make an x-wing, but they are hard to make. and yes i will try to smooth out the front pod and have some more detail. (if i could only find those brushes.)

I agree with argonnath. It's a lot easier to start out with something someone else has done, and just copy it, hence using the X-Wing. Then practicing on other things like Cloakshape's and the like. Then start on smaller cap ships, then work your way up from there. I didn't figure that out for myself until after I started, and it has really slowed me down a lot.
Another thing, I know that we are always yelling "More Details", but also remember that too much detail is bad as well. It can clutter everything up, and crowd out other things, and just make the thing look incredibly messy.

like i said, the x-wing is a bit hard for me to do. and this took a very short time for me to make the fist version. so i'm going to stick with this. then if i get hiresd as a modeller, i will do whatever they tell me to make.

doesnt mean its smaller that its easier to make.
i made a Eclipse MKII and that was alot easier than making an X-wing.
the difficulty of the model will depend on how many curves, lines and polygons you need.

Darthme, you efforts are appreciated, but the fact is, and I say this without any malice or intention to discredit your efforts, that your models are currently not at the standard that is needed.
Modelling does take a long time to perfect; and we don't need absolute perfection, but we need someone with the skill to produce an accurate and quite detailed model, and I certainly know how difficult it is; I have tried my hand at a few small modelling tasks for another mod and yes it is very hard to get fine-quality representations with good detail, but your models aren't there yet and it'd be both pointless and dishonest of us to take you on.
Keep going; practice makes perfect, but in the case of modelling, it's a long job.

well, i'm putting off the NTB-630 project so i can work on something easier like your advice said. i'm currently finishing up a UNSC vulture from Halo Wars. if i coul get the color scheme i painted it with to show up in the render, i would have posted it by now. i think that it is pretty good. its even and appropriatly porpotioned
