greetings fellow gamers
« on: April 15, 2006, 01:01 pm »

hey everyone, nice to see a community of dedicated tweekers like myself. like the rest of you i'm psyched about this mod and already enjoy the beta the team's put out. can't wait for the full version to give eaw some real beef. since i'm one of the few people in existance that i'm aware of who liked the rebellion game i like the variety of ships being put in the mod and a more in depth strategy (like the eventual ability to ram other ships). i think one of the few things that eaw was missing was the politics game which was so abundant in rebellion but i don't even know how something like that could be put in eaw, oh well. anyway, i'm a general sci fi nut and am just happy to be here.

indeed. especially the genre of giant robot spawned by the original mobile suit gundam in 1979. i'm hardcore with gundam (owning at least fifty or so of the model kits) but am also a big fan of cowboy bebop, outlaw star, and evangelion as well as full metal panic. aside from anime i'm a star wars nut in general. i own a large number of graphic novels as well as both the essential guides to vehicles and vessels, hence my love of games like eaw and rebellion where you get to control the big ships instead of just starfighter like in the rogue squadron series.

exactly. i wish that eaw had used rebellion for a template. i also like how you had the option of direct warfare through conventional fleet battles or you could choose to just sabotage the whole thing. the only real dissappointment to rebellion was that the land battles weren't carried out in real time. c'mon wookies ripping apart dark troopers.... awsome. oh well, i guess that's what galactic battle grounds was for :-\

by the way trepid, if you like rebellion then you'd probly like this other sci-fi rts that was released around '98-'99 i think. it's called: Imperium Galactica II: Alliances. the interface is quite similar to rebellion but the graphics are much advanced, check it out some time.
